Hi all

I'm about to commit to buying a new Alltrack so I'm going to roll a couple of questions in to one...

Web searches have highlighted the chequered history of the Golf's DSG transmissions & diesel engine timing chains.

I know history is in the past but I'd like to know if anyone out there has had any problems at all with their Alltrack's DSG: model 0GC DQ381, 7-speed wet clutch - fitted to diesel Alltracks in Australia at least I believe.

Also the Golf's diesel timing chain tensioner is apparently prone to not applying tension at times resulting in drops of power and/or engine damage - anyone have any experience of this too?

Otherwise I think the Alltrack is the ideal cross-over, the subaru outback seems dated & overpriced by comparison...

Cheers!

Hmmm. I thought the 135TDI had a timing belt.

The dealer tells me it's a chain.
Other Golf diesels do & I read they're the ones with a tensioner problem.
My assumption is that it's the same engine but tuned differently.
