Rocker Panel Protection: 2017 Alltrack

The top edge of the silver painted rocker panels on my Alltrack get small dings and scuffs from heels and shoes. This makes an otherwise beautiful vehicle look shabby as one opens the door. I asked the VW dealer if he could suggest a protective cover [other than repainting!] that might be placed over both side panels. They had no suggestions.
I am looking into aluminum tape, clear plastic tape or some sort of thin trim which may work.
Has anyone had this problem and solved it?

How about clear film that is used for paint protection. You can buy it in rolls of just about any size and cut to fit pretty much wherever you want to as long as the area is smooth (like paint or glass). Do a little searching and you'll fine it. Amazon sells it but do yourself a favor and don't buy no name cheap stuff. It's not that expensive and should be pretty easy to do. I just installed pre-cut film for my headlights and fog lights, it wasn't very difficult.
