- What I Drive
- '19 Alltrack S 6MT
Wife and I bought our first VW for either one of us, a new Pure White '19 Alltrack S 6MT.
We test drove it on a whim, we originally didn't give it much attention since it's rated at only 168 hp, but a test drive left us both impressed and before you know it, we're owners of a VW
Bought it January 23rd, currently at about 5600 miles, and loving it!
I did its first oil change at about 5100 miles, and we've gone through a couple different wheel sets. The factory Falken tires and stock wheels got removed about 2 weeks after buying the car, and never went back on - sold to a nice young man that was putting them on a Jetta.
Current set-up is General G-Max AS-05 235/50/17 tires on 17x7.5 Alzor wheels.
Future plans? Who knows, but a hybrid is20 and upgraded clutch will most likely be part of the build at some point. Both my wife and I own 600+ rwhp Mustangs, so we like power, and while the AT is "peppy", there are times when we would like more, lol
Some pics:
First pic, still at the dealership, fresh after the test-drive:
Bad-quality pic, but a delivery shot, as the salesman delivered the AT to New Hampshire (from Mass), and drove back our trusty old Subaru trade-in, a 216,000-mile 5-speed '03 Forester:
First pic with the new-to-us Alzor wheels. When we bought them they had these studded 225/45/17 General snow tires on them. We ran them for about 3 weeks but eventually took the tires off and sold them:
With a set of 16x7 Audi 5-spoke wheels, and 205/55/16 tires. This set-up is for sale, the tires are pretty worn Michelin snow tires, and the wheels look like they've been a winter set for a while, so they're far from perfect, but they work, and they look pretty good on the white wagon
With the Alzors back on, and this time with the current tires, 235/50/17 General G-Max AS-05. Love this set-up.
Our Alltrack (which we call the "Panzerwagen"), with my wife's sister's '16 GTI, a 2-door 6-speed model. Fun little car
(and my truck in the background, a 2006 Tundra AccessCab V8 4x4)
My '06 Tundra, my 608 rwhp '13 Mustang GT, and our '19 Alltrack:
And last but certainly not least, my wife's 656 rwhp '08 Mustang GT500.
TVS-swapped, and with a few things done to the suspension, and running a brand new McLeod RXT clutch. Barely a couple hundred miles on it this year, but working on it.
