Leatherette is breaking down on 2017 Golf Alltrack SEL

I have a 2017 Golf Alltrack SEL that I've purchased new 3 years ago. The car seat leatherette started breaking down about 1 year ago and had it repaired a few months ago. The fix is breaking down again and so am looking for some decent car seat covers since replacements will cost $750 per bottom and top to total $1500 to get back to new for a seat that will last 2 years. Incredible. Perhaps I should contact VW of America. Is anyone else having this problem?

I would contact the dealer and VW with a smile and good attitude. Our Outback Ltd. had a split in the seat after 3 years but before 36,000 miles and Subaru replaced the seat.

FWIW, I pointed out the shape of the car, my doing all the service at the dealer, and my own shape (150 pounds) not being abusive. They agreed and did the out of warranty repair.
