- 2018 Golf Alltrack
Hi all,
I have a newish to me (I'm the second owner) 2018 Golf Alltrack SEL. First off, I love this car! I got it last fall with 28k miles, just turned 40k now. I've been wondering about a smell I've noticed, and maybe someone has insight on this. Often when I'm going slow or idling, or especially after I've backed out of the driveway, I notice a oily smell. Not like a burning oil smell, but more like the greasy smell that auto shops smell like. Like raw oil.
This has been going on since I bought the car, and it seems more noticeable now that the weather is warming back up. Having the engine oil and the haldex clutch oil changed hasn't affected the situation.
It's an automatic. There has been no sign of the engine oil level going down, and no drips on the driveway.
Any ideas? Thanks!
