Using 100W halogen bulbs

Is there a danger in using 100W halogen bulbs for low beam? The 55W that it came with is just not bright enough and installing those new LED bulbs is blinding oncoming traffic. Any thoughts?

Yes. You will damage wiring, may damage ECU, will melt the headlight housing.

Oh, and they're illegal and dangerous to oncoming traffic.

LEDs in the standard housing are also illegal, and can be dangerous.

If you're overrunning your headlights, maybe slow down.
