Not really but I could see if the passenger is tall their knees could hit it. Otherwise it?s really not an issue for us. It?s really the perfect place for it since it?s so close to the USB port and I use a coiled cable.

Magic mount Pro XL. I have a phone case with a built in metal plate, so I didn't have to use the included plate.
